Our meeting this month was at Carolanna's. It was fun to see her new home and her new longarm. After our show and tell (below) we made some plans for the upcoming year and our future meetings. Lots of ideas were tossed around and sounds like there's never an end to creativity in the quilting world. Kathi will keep a list of the ideas we discussed so if anyone needs an idea when it's her turn to host a meeting.
For lunch Carolanna made Taco Soup, Spinach and Artichoke Dip and White Strawberry Cupcakes. The recipes are also below. Thank you Carolanna for such a fun morning!
Here's a Twister quilt that Jeanie made. It's nice and cozy with a flannel back. The made one for each of her girls.

Lynette's humanitarian quilt. She and Cindy got this fabric from Tuesday Morning.
Lynette made these peek-a-boo bags, in fact she made ten of them and has given most of them away. She made one for her grandson out of jeans and another one she made larger with pink and purple fabric for her granddaughter's Barbie collection.
Cindy's humanitarian quilt. Cindy was part of a women's stake conference where humanitarian work was emphasized. She put the call out to all the women involved to make donation quilts using their stash. On the night of the meeting, they had 90 donated quilts all displayed around the gym. These will be wonderful and beautiful quilts for families in need in our community.

This humanitarian quilt was made using small flannel squares
Rachel made this quilt while in St. George for her son. It is the Camelback Road pattern. Below is the back of the quilt.
Take two squares of fabric and set them right sides together.
Then sew a 1/4" seam along the outside edge all the way around
Then cut diagonally both ways. You will then have four half-square triangle squares which can be pieced together to look like a pinwheel.

Kathi also made a grey and yellow quilt this month. The pattern is called Yummy by Jaybird Quilts.
Recipes:
Spinach and Artichoke Dip
1 can artichokes (chopped)
1 box frozen chopped spinach
1 jar Alfredo sauce
4 oz cream cheese (cubed)
1 Tbs minced garlic
Mix all together, place in greased casserole dish and bake uncovered at 350 for 30-45 min.
Taco soup
1 pkg taco seasoning
2 cans chicken broth
3-4 cups water
1 cup corn
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can southern white beans
1 rotisserie chicken
1 can diced tomatoes
Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish with shredded cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips
White cupcake recipe or mix
Whipped cream/cream cheese frosting
Beat 1 pint heavy whipping cream to stiff peaks, add 1 brick whipped cream cheese
Add 1-2 cups powdered sugar (to taste for sweetness)
Add 1tsp vanilla
Beat all together till stiff peaks
Strawberry filling
1 pkg strawberry danish (junket) dessert
4 cups chopped fresh strawberries
Cook according to pkg directions
