May 2021

We are meeting again in person in Jean's home!!! It was so great to see everyone, chat about life, our families, Covid life, quilting, new adventures, etc. We had a show and tell while we caught up with each other, then enjoyed a beautiful lunch prepared by Jean.

Here are the pics and info from our meeting:

Caren made this cute sewing machine cover.

Caren also hand-stitched this LoneStar quilt. It consists of 380 diamonds.

Above and below are baby quilts made by Caren for her great grandbabies.

Kathi pieced this top from a pattern by Camille Roskelley called Beach House.

Kathi has also been crocheting quite a bit and brought her basketweave baby blanket that she made for one of her new grandbabies.

Darla made these clothesline baskets. The brown one is made using paracord.

With this basket, Darla used clothesline wrapped in fabric scraps.

This basket was dyed by dipping the bottom into dye, then quickly turning it upside down and letting the color bleed into the clothesline.

Jeannie made these both this quilt above and below for her great grandbabies. She used a soft minky for the backings.

Nancy used ombre fabrics to make this quilt.

Nancy also made this hexy Kingfisher quilt top using her scraps. The hexys that make up the flowers were all pieced by hand.

This will be a quilt made by members of Nancy's book club.

Darla used her pastel batiks to make this fence rail quilt.

Darla used her scraps to make this flower quilt.

This is another quilt Darla made and she used minky on the back to make it a snuggle quilt.

Cindy made this flannel quilt and made the ducks using her embroidery machine.

This bed quilt was also made by Cindy.

Lenette made two of these quilts for her twin bunk beds. She also made matching pillow shams.(below)

These two aprons were embroidered by Jean and given away at our meeting as door prizes!

Jean took a class at JK Quilts in Meridian to learn how to make these bags. She used her embroidery machine to make the cute labels. They are called Poppins bags because they stand up and open up wide. The black and white bag below is the larger version.

Jean also made this queen size Lone Star quilt.
