Thank you Diane for writing up the following info about our last quilt group meeting. I'm always sad when I have to miss a meeting, but appreciate being able to read about it and see the pictures. Thank you Rachel for taking the pictures.
There were 15 people there.
Rachel received the door prize from Jeanie which was two
"Snap Happy" purses.
Maurene demonstrated how to make the purse. Several people participated in making their own to take home.
Jeanie served a nice lunch of Hamtastic sandwiches, chopped salad and mini fruit pizzas. All was delicious! Thank you Jeanie.
She also showed a great windex product that she purchased at Target.
She also showed a great windex product that she purchased at Target.
It is called Windex All In One Glass Cleaning Tool. Jeanie highly recommends it
for it's ease of use and great results.
Next month our meeting will be held at Maurene's house on July 31st at 10am.
Thanks to you all!
Maurene showed her pizza box blocks all done in a beautiful quilt. The blocks were set on point. Rachel quilted it.
Monica got a great surprise on Mother's Day...a quilting machine! She showed the Charming Flowers quilt that was her first project on the machine. This quilt pattern is by Moose on the Porch Quilts in the book Simply Charming.
Also a beautiful baby quilt of simple squares on point.
Nancy Christensen completed a great baby quilt pattern Pow Pow by Cluck Cluck Sew. It is an easy quick pattern. It is for a baby girl. The older sister of this baby gets a dolly blanket from Nancy, made of the triangles trimmed from Pow Pow. The batting in the dolly quilt is a prewashed flannel. It wraps a doll nicely.
Nancy constructed a tablecloth quilt out of vintage sheet squares. She used Thermore which is a very thin polyester batting. Hand quilters love this batting for the ease of stitching. The quilt drapes very nicely also.
This quilt will be a nice covering for her patio table, along with the matching cloth napkins that she sewed.
Carolanna's quilt: Two For The Show the fabirc is Grande Finale by Sandy Gervais (tourquiose etc.)
Next by Carolanna is Town Square out of the Flirt fabric designed by Sandy Gervais (choral and tan)
Third quilt by Carolanna: Rado Way out of fabric line Nested Owls by Adornit. (red, blue etc)
All three quilts very beautifully quilted by Carolanna.
Diane Spackman shared embroidered pillowcases and a scrappy baby girl flimsy with small embroidered squares. Also, completed by Diane a canvas with small fabric scraps mod podged covering the surface. She will hang it in her sewing room.
Cindy Anderson showed a fantastic Quiet Book. she made 4 of these, one for each child. Cindy also showed an (tan, red, blue) americana quilt made of the Trip Around the World pattern
Cindy showed an original baby quilt. She copied the boats in the fabric to applique onto the white parts of the quilt top. The boats are replicated perfectly! For the backing, she plans to use a knit fabric with boats.
