October 2026

OCTOBER 2026   QUILT GROUP
held at Diane Beagley's home in Star, Idaho
These first several pictures are of Diane's home and her Halloween Decorations
Thank you, Diane for the lovely morning of inspiration and yummy lunch!

We enjoyed a visitor today, Patty Petty, Diane's next door neighbor. Patty showed her fabric bows and pattern. The bow making was a recent class at the quilt store in Meridian, Idaho. She said they used 'soft and stable' for the heft of the bow.  The fabric squares are ironed and sewed using the grid interfacing method. Tensisters is the company that produces the grid fabric.
Patty is a very experienced sewist. She heads up a local Humanitarian service group.

Darla Birch showed the next 3 quilts.  She likes to donate all of her quilts and fabric to good causes and charity groups! We didn't get to see the 15 quilts she already donated to the Linus Project.
This Halloween quilt was made by cutting up a layer cake pre-cut.
Fall Quilt
Sea Quilt
Diane Spackman made this Ragtime Flag quilt and the next quilt, which is called "The Quilt of Many Colors" or The Dolly Quilt. As homage to Dolly Parton, this quilt pattern is a free make, available on line.
Dolly Parton wrote a book and sang a song called: The Coat of Many Colors

Diane Beagley made the above Halloween Quilt.
Here is a close up photo of some of the quilt. Pictured below is the backing fabric, which is Spider Webs!

This cute pumpkin was made by Diane B. She followed a video by Minky Quilts.
This was the door prize for passing the pumpkin game. (game story pictured below.) Lenette P. was the lucky person who won the pumpkin.
Nancy Christensen made this Turquoise and Black quilt. Personalized it for the recipient by using this motorcycle fabric.

Rocket Quilt by Nancy also.
Batik quilt made by Nancy. She saw this quilt in a magazine. Nancy used a sheet for the backing.
The quilt below was also made by Nancy. Her quilt guild in Tucson Az, held a challenge. They all made the same pattern and were required not to buy any fabric for this sampler quilt.  The name of the quilt is: LONG TIME GONE
The photos below show the many elements of the quilt.

The backing (not pictured) for this quilt was purchased at My Quilting Corner, a machine quilting store in Boise that also sells wide back fabrics.

Lenette Poole made this pillow to match the quilt she previous made for her grandson, Finn.
The front pocket holds books for bedtime!
Lenette made this beautiful Bear Collage for the wall of her daughter's cabin.
She got it framed at Michael's. If getting a picture framed there, it is recommended that you ask for Mac in the framing department at Michael's on Eagle Road. He is the best. The method for this appliqué is raw edge and steam a seam for bonding. This is a Laura Heine pattern.

Jean Hancock made this "Nutcracker" quilt. The fabric used is Tilda. This quilt was made for Jean's twin sister, Joan.

The quilt below is entitled: Holiday Birds. It is a free pattern on the Tilda website.
Jean made this quilt.
The quilt below was made using a black/gray/cream color layer cake...made by Jean.

This "Ombre Flurry" quilt made by Jean using a Jelly Roll precut. The blocks were laid out on point.

Deb Ragsdale made these Halloween table runners.
Spy the ricrac on the edge in the binding.
The quilt below was made using Fall batik colors. There is flannel on the back. Deb sews quilts for Stacie's Fabric Stash quilt store in Nampa, ID. The name of the quilt is: Chromatic Blast.
It can be viewed out at Stacie's.
