Sherry also asked for an exchange of ideas for Family Reunion ideas. Here are some that were mentioned:
Bring a button box and make rings or brooches out of them
Make large bubbles using homemade bubble wands
Each family make a short movie-give each family a subject
Play spike ball, holy board, corn hole, 9-square
Iron Chef war-use the same ingredients each morning and have them come up with a completely different breakfast each time
Have each person tell something they have learned this past year or tell about a good thing that has happened in the last year
Take lots of pictures then make a memory book online for each family
Here are our show and tell items:
Sherry made this for her youngest son. She used a pattern from McCall's magazine and used Kaffe fabric
Sherry also knitted this throw with a cable stitch design. She said it still needs to be blocked.
Monica made this top using the Mixologie fabric line by Moda
Corrie made these camper quilts for two of her friends
Kathi brought her patriotic wreath made from bandanas from last year to show in case anyone wanted to make one for this year
Here is Jeannie's "Sew together bag"
Jeannie made this using her mom's squares and Maurene did the hand quilting around the blocks
Nancy made this baby quilt to put into a service auction. It is made with half square triangles.
Nancy also made this quilt. She calls it a low volume quilt because of the choice of colors. She also used leftover fabric from her very first quilt she made.
Nancy made this needle minder with magnets to hold your needle while you're sewing
Nancy's niece made this cute little sewing bag
Lynette made these bibs
Cindy made this quilt using varying strip widths
Diane made this 16-patch baby quilt
Diane made these cards as part of a swap she is doing called Bags of Sunshine. Each bag will be given away and will contain items that spread sunshine. Diane made these cards gluing the fabric onto the card, then stitching it in place.
Darla's sister, Bonita, visiting from Burley, Idaho, is re-doing these 1965 vintage trailer hand towels and will use them for a quilt.
Darla is again starting to make her loomed hats for humanitarian and also made some mitered corner baby blankets
Darla made this one using minky fabric and a silky binding.
